our story · founded on the bathroom tile

i sketched the first one on the kitchen floor.

I've had migraine since I was 14. Not "a bad headache," the kind where the room is too bright, too loud, too much, and you lose the whole day to the dark. Soothefy started face-down on the cold tile, a toddler asking for a snack, a bag of frozen peas dripping down my neck.

I wasn't trying to start a brand. I just wanted one thing that actually worked.

a tuesday-afternoon flare
if you know, you know

A vise around your skull. An ice pick behind your right eye. The kitchen light like an interrogation. And someone, somewhere, telling you it's "just a headache."

I'm not going to explain your migraine to you. You've lived it longer than any brochure. I built Soothefy because I have too.

The first annotated sketch of the cap
iteration zero

I wasn't designing a product. I was designing a rescue.

Draw it, freeze it, wear it, fix it. Then do it 26 more times.

why it took 27 tries

Every cap I'd tried had failed me. So I wrote down what I refused to accept.

the chemical smell

"It smells like poop." Real review, another brand. When you're already nauseous, a chemical stink triggers the migraine worse. Ours took two years to get to zero smell.

warm in five minutes

Frozen peas drip. Towels go warm before you've stopped shaking. The gel had to hold real cold long enough to actually matter.

choosing dark or day

Some days you disappear into blackout. Some days the school pickup still happens. I needed one cap that did both, so I built a mask that slides up.

where it lives now

Between the peas and the ice cream, always ready.

No pill bottle to find at 3am. No ice to wrap in a tea towel while your head splits. Just a cap that's already cold, in the drawer, waiting for the bad day you hope isn't coming.

the flare
A Tuesday I couldn't get up from

Face on the tile because it was cool. Sketching a cap on the back of a receipt so I'd never be this unprepared again.

iter. 1–9
Everything that already existed, tested and hated

Stiff, smelly, too tight, cold for ten minutes. Every complaint became a spec. Kitchen-table prototypes, freezer full of gel.

iter. 10–19
The odorless gel, two years alone

Holds deep cold for 15 to 20+ minutes, then a gentle cool as it fades. Freeze it, or microwave it for the tension days. No smell. Non-negotiable.

iter. 20–27
The slide-up mask and 360° fit

Cold on every pressure point, silky so it doesn't tug hair, and a patent-pending eye mask that slides up when life won't wait. The 27th is the one you can buy.

329,575 heads, one freezer drawer at a time

In homes all over the UK. Most people end up with two or three on rotation, so there's always a cold one waiting.

what i promise you

I only make things I'd reach for at 3am.

I won't say "cure," "miracle," or "revolutionary."

You've heard the hype before. Soothefy is a drug-free comfort you can trust, with no big promises it can't keep.

60 days to decide, on your worst days.

Try it through real flares. If it isn't the one thing that finally helps, send it back. No arguing.

A real person answers your email.

Often me. I read the reviews, the DMs, the "it won't stay cold long enough" fears. That's how it keeps getting better.

To be loved is to be seen. Soothefy is the cap that says "I believe how bad it gets."
